WHY SHOULD THE DEVIL HAVE ALL THE GOOD MUSIC?
RightRightRight Films is producing Why Should the Devil Have All the Good Music?, a feature-length film about the artistic, religious and cultural phenomenon of Christian rock music. The film features concert and interview footage of underground and nationally recognized bands in the Christian rock community. It also includes commentary from fans, musicians, observers and critics from within the Christian rock scene, as well as from the "secular" music community. The aspirations of the musicians, their motivations, the effect they have on their audience and on culture at large are all discussed from a broad spectrum of viewpoints, along with critical perspectives on the individual bands and the scene as a whole. THE SHIELD AROUND THE K
Produced and directed by Heather Rose Dominic, THE SHIELD AROUND THE K proles the birth and growth of the punk rock DIY record label, K Records, based in Olympia, Washington.

Co-Founders Calvin Johnson and Candice Pedersen are interviewed along with over 20 K artists and peers including Mecca Normal, Lois, Rose Melberg, Ian Mackaye, Slim Moon, Dean Wareham and more. THE SHIELD AROUND THE K features performances by Calvin Johnson’s legendary Beat Happening, possibly the least pretentious band in the history of rock. A band that has inuenced countless musicians all over the world simply by being themselves.

Powered by Super 8 music videos directed by Patrick Maley and Lois and including rare International Pop Underground Festival footage featuring Fugazi, Beat Happening, Mecca Normal and others, THE SHIELD AROUND THE K is an inspiring portayal of an independent record label whose lo- credibility has never been compromised.
